Our Story

Built by someone who couldn't find the stone

A contractor's frustrating one-month search led to a simple idea: the piece you need is already out there — it's just invisible.

A customer came to me with a straightforward request: a stone piece, 71 inches by 10 inches. Simple enough — except it wasn't.

I spent over a month looking. I called six different fabricators across Massachusetts. Nobody had it, or nobody knew they had it. The piece I needed was sitting in someone's yard — I just had no way to know that.

"When I finally found it, the fabricator walked me out to the yard and pointed at it. It had been sitting there for months. He had no idea anyone was looking."

That moment stuck with me. Here was a fabricator with exactly what I needed, and a buyer — me — who had spent weeks searching. We were five miles apart. The only thing missing was a way to connect.

That's why I built Remnant Exchange. Stone fabricators across the country have leftover slab pieces — remnants from finished jobs — sitting in their shops and yards. Perfectly good stone, taking up space, slowly becoming waste. Meanwhile, homeowners and contractors are searching everywhere and coming up empty.

The solution isn't complicated. Fabricators list what they have. Buyers find what they need. Free for fabricators. No middlemen. No monthly fees.

Our mission

Stone remnants are valuable material. They shouldn't sit in a yard until they're thrown away, and buyers shouldn't spend months making phone calls. Remnant Exchange closes that gap — connecting the people who have stone with the people who need it, for free.
